We provide algorithmic market estimation and visual computer vision analysis for colored gemstones via our mobile application. We respect your privacy and are deeply committed to protecting the personal and gemological data you share with us in accordance with Apple App Store Guidelines and global data protection standards.
2. Information We Collect
When you access or use the Gemirror iOS application, we may collect the following categories of information:
- Gemstone Imagery & Certificates: User-uploaded photographs of gemstones, jewelry pieces, and laboratory reports (e.g., GIA, GRS, Gübelin, SSEF, Lotus, IGI). These images are processed strictly to perform optical quality pre-screening, laboratory report OCR extraction, and visual valuation synthesis.
- Account Identifiers: Email address, display name, and unique user identifiers provided when you authenticate using Apple Sign-In ("Sign In with Apple"), Google Sign-In, or anonymous guest sessions.
- Device & Diagnostics Information: IP address, operating system version, device model, and diagnostic telemetry used to ensure stable network connectivity, resolve application crashes, and prevent fraudulent overuse of evaluation credits.
- Purchase & Transaction Records: Consumable valuation credit balances and subscription receipt validation identifiers handled securely through Apple StoreKit and RevenueCat. We do not collect, process, or store credit card numbers; all financial transactions are processed exclusively by Apple.
3. Camera and Photo Library Access
The Gemirror application requires access to your device camera and photo library exclusively to enable you to capture or select photographs of gemstones and laboratory certificates for evaluation. We do not access your photos in the background, nor do we access images you have not explicitly selected for appraisal.
4. How We Use Your Information
We use the collected information for the following specific purposes:
- To provide gemstone market estimates based on optical image characteristics, user-declared parameters, and historical auction trade evidence.
- To store your evaluated gemstones and certificates in your private, authenticated Stones Vault for ongoing portfolio management.
- To maintain and synchronize your purchased consumable evaluation credits across your devices.
- To deliver customer support, troubleshoot technical issues, and investigate unauthorized activity.
5. Data Storage, Security & Encryption
We employ robust industry-standard administrative, physical, and technical safeguards:
- In-Transit Encryption: All data transmitted between the Gemirror app and our backend infrastructure is encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS 1.3).
- At-Rest Encryption: Uploaded images and database records are hosted in encrypted cloud object storage buckets with strict Row-Level Security (RLS).
- Non-Sale of Personal Information: We do NOT sell, rent, or trade your personal data, gemstone photographs, or valuation history to third-party data brokers or advertisers.
6. Third-Party Infrastructure Providers
To deliver our services, we partner with reputable enterprise service providers who are contractually bound to maintain strict confidentiality and security:
- Supabase Inc.: Cloud database hosting, user authentication, and encrypted file storage.
- RevenueCat Inc. & Apple Inc.: In-app purchase verification, StoreKit entitlement management, and credit fulfillment.
- AI Vision Processing Engines: Optical character recognition of certificates and computer vision assessment of stone quality metrics.
7. Account and Data Deletion
In accordance with Apple App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(v), you have the right to permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time directly within the application:
- Open Gemirror → Navigate to Profile → Select Settings → Tap Delete Account.
- Alternatively, you can request account deletion by emailing us at support@gemirrorapp.com with your account email.
- Upon deletion, your profile, authentication records, saved stones, and uploaded imagery are permanently purged from our active databases.
8. Children's Privacy
Gemirror is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
